The boarding fees at Brymore Academy are solely for boarding as the education is provided by the state therefore, if you are in receipt of Universal Credits, you may be able to claim up to 85% of childcare element of the boarding fees.

The maximum amount for each assessment period is:

  • £1,031.88 for one child
  • £1,768.94 for 2 or more children

You need to be either:

  • in paid work
  • starting a job in the next month

If you live with a partner, you both need to be in paid work, unless your partner cannot look after your children. It does not matter how many hours you work – there is no minimum.

It must be paid work, so you’re not eligible if you are volunteering and only getting money for expenses. If you’re on sick leave, you may also be eligible if you’re getting Statutory Sick Pay. If you’re on maternity, paternity, adoption or neonatal care leave, you may also be eligible if you’re getting one of:

  • Statutory Maternity Pay
  • Statutory Paternity Pay
  • Statutory Shared Parental Pay
  • Statutory Adoption Pay
  • Maternity Allowance
  • Statutory Neonatal Care Pay

Please contact the HM Revenue and Customs on 0345 300 3900 for advice. They will need our OFSTED registration number which is 139655. Please be sure to stress that we do not charge any fees for education only for after school care. Help with fees may also be available via a bursary or grant.

BOYS BANK

All boys will be given an activity account, a tuck account and a cafeteria account. Parents/guardians can pay money into the activity account to be used for weekend activities. We do not allow the boys to draw money from the activity account without prior authorisation from their parents/guardians by phone or email. Parents/guardians can pay money into the tuck accounts for the boys to use for tuck. We restrict the boys to a maximum of £5.00 per day (unless authorised in advance) but can set individual daily or weekly limits should you require. Please telephone 01278 655569 during term time to set this up. You can also pay money into their cafeteria accounts for snacks in the canteen during the morning break. This is a cashless account so boys may not withdraw money from it.

All trips, books and evening activities can be found in Arbor under trips or clubs. Some items of uniform are available to purchase through the school shop on Arbor. Payments can be made online via the Arbor parent app (a letter will be sent to parents explaining how to use this service). For those who are unable to access this online option, payment can be made by cheque or card at the finance office.
