Year 7 Boarding places (full and weekly)
For Year 7 Day places starting September 2027
- Following your visit, if you would like to apply for a place at Brymore, you will need to complete an application form from our Admissions Portal.
- In addition, you should go through the normal secondary school application process, through your own Local Authority (LA), when your son is in Year 6. This is to ensure, if your son is not successful, that he will still be allocated a place at a school local to you. Please do NOT enter Bymore as an option with you apply to your own LA.
- Deadline for applications: 31st October 2026.
- Potential boarders will be invited for interview with the Headteacher to check their suitability for boarding and to address any SEN or other requirements prior to starting at Brymore.
Year 7 Out-boarding (day) places
For Year 7 Day places starting September 2027
- If you live in Somerset, apply for your secondary school through the Local Authority (LA), including Brymore Academy in your selection choices. The link to their information page is here. To give you the best opportunity to get a Day place you must put Brymore Academy as your first choice on the application form.
- In addition, you will need to complete a Brymore application, through our admissions portal on our website.
- The deadline for applications is 31st October.
- Please remember, Brymore is a very popular choice and there is no specific catchment area. Out-boarder places are offered by the LA, who follow a strict over-subscription criteria, found in our Admissions Policy.
- The Head likes to meet as many students as possible before they join, so you may be invited to an interview. However, due to time constraints, it is not possible to interview everyone. If your child has SEN, or other, requirements, you will be invited to interview to ensure we put the right processes in place prior to arrival.
- If you live in Somerset and are able to consider both day and boarding options, please indicated this on the Brymore application only. Please do not mention boarding anywhere on the LA form.

In-year day applications for all year groups
We welcome enquiries from families of students who are already in secondary education and are considering a transfer to Brymore Academy.
If you are looking for a school place to start immediately please complete the application through our Admissions Portal.
All received applications will be reviewed and processed by our Admissions Panel in accordance with our Admissions Policy . The Headteacher will invite applicants for a tour and an interview purely to assess suitability for boarding. Applicants will receive a written response within 10 school days following the interview. Where an Brymore Academy place is offered it will be held open for 14 school days and applicants will need to confirm acceptance within this time. Where it is not accepted, the place may be withdrawn.
Should your application be refused based on the school being oversubscribed, you will be placed on our waiting list and will be contacted should a place become available.
