Boarding Houses & Staff

Accommodation for residential boarders is provided in three Houses – Kemp House, Reid House and School House, each with its own individual family atmosphere.

Younger boarders (years 7, 8 and 9s) reside in Kemp House, with Reid House accommodating a combination of fulltime and weekly boarders from year 7 to year 11. Typically, boys in these houses will sleep in a room of up to four boys.  Every bedroom is spacious and boarders have access to modern washing rooms with individual showers, basins and toilets.  Every house has a well furnished and equipped common room, with pool table, table tennis, TV and outdoor lawn games that the boys can use in the evenings. Houseparents' accommodation and offices are attached to each house, so that staff are accessible and boarders cared for, at all times during term time.

Year 9,10 and 11 boarders live in School House which is situated in the main, historic, school building.  Spacious, light bedrooms typically house up to seven boys.  Modern wash rooms are available on all floors and the common room has a pool table, air hockey and dart board, as well as board games and TV.

Boarding Staff

Each house is led by a resident Houseparent and supported by an Assistant Houseparent. All houses are further supported by the Head of Boarding, Deputy Head of Boarding, Pastoral Manager and Activities Tutor to provide and ensure a well-rounded and supportive pastoral system is in place for all boys 24 hours a day.
