FOBSA exists to support the school by raising funds to provide ’extra’ items that enhance the boys’ life at school and support for school activities which otherwise might not be funded. There is no formal ‘membership’ and everyone is welcome to get involved – parents, relatives and friends. FOBSA is a great opportunity to be involved in school life, to make contact with parents, governors and staff and to keep in touch with what is going on at Brymore.
Each year a significant amount is contributed to school. FOBSA raises this money through a programme of events, primarily providing refreshments at the annual Brymore Open Day (the last Saturday in June); the new parents’ Hog Roast; Cross Country and Sports Days and the annual swimming gala. FOBSA members make copious amounts of tea, coffee, hot soup and wonderful home-made cakes at events throughout the year, including cross-country and other sporting events and at Saturday pick-ups, providing welcome refreshment and an opportunity to socialise.
Please support FOBSA in whatever way you can – coming along to help serve teas, providing cakes, donating raffle-prizes or contributing your boys’ outgrown uniform (which FOBSA will make available to purchase at the Open Day). If nothing else, enjoy the refreshments which FOBSA make available – and donate generously! All the funds raised go towards school and the boys’ enjoyment of school life.
The Chair of FOBSA is Lorna; introduce yourself at any event or just come along to a FOBSA meeting – dates are publicised in the school bulletin. Meetings are usually held on a Friday straight after school and increasingly online via WhatsApp so it is easier for any parent to attend. With the use of social media the committee can liaise throughout the year without having to have lots of meetings.
