At Brymore, our history and tradition are not just part of the past—they are a vital part of who we are today. We are proud to be custodians of the culture and ethos created by those who came before us. Every student, every staff member, and every member of our wider community plays a role in preserving and upholding the values that have shaped Brymore over generations. Our school motto, "Diligentia et Labore" – through diligence and hard work – captures the essence of what it means to be part of this school. It reminds us that success is earned through consistent effort, determination, and integrity. These principles are not simply words on a blazer—they are lived out daily in our classrooms, workshops, fields, and boarding houses. Underpinning our ethos are the three Rs:

These qualities are fundamental to the development of every Brymore Boy. We teach our students to be resourceful—to think independently, to solve problems creatively, and to make the most of the opportunities around them. We expect them to take responsibility for their actions, their learning, and their role within the school and wider community. We encourage them to build resilience—to face challenges with courage, to persevere when things are difficult, and to learn and grow from setbacks.

As a school we have been told repeatedly that ‘you can recognise a Brymore Boy.’ But what is a Brymore Boy? As a school and a staff body, what type of young man are we striving to develop? A Brymore Boy is much more than just a student – he is a living embodiment of the school's ethos, traditions, and community spirit. He is bought in to our culture, embracing the values that make Brymore unique and ensuring they are reflected in both his character and conduct. He is first and foremost academic and engaged, approaching learning with curiosity, commitment, and pride. Whether in the classroom, workshop, or on the farm, he is hard working and determined, striving for personal excellence while encouraging the same in others. A Brymore Boy is passionate about his subjects, his hobbies, and his school, and this passion is balanced by a grounded sense of humility and honesty. As an ambassador for the school, a Brymore Boy is always impeccably presented, well-spoken, and polite. He is respectful, well-mannered, and grateful, understanding the value of opportunities he is given and the importance of representing his school with pride.

A Brymore Boy is also a gentleman – someone who is kind, inclusive, and supportive of others.
